I really wanted something that made sidewalk chalk look more like the revolutionary tool it might be. Sort of threw in the Star Wars light saber look as well.
It is about a foot long made of black plastic (ABS) plumbing pipe. I cut up a joint piece to make the twist lock and belt clip base. It did take me a bit of thinking to come up with the locking ring. The whole unit, except the grip tape, is sprayed flat black. I had wanted something more like a push button to move the chalk, but the twist lock works and keeps the lines clean. The chalk is plaster of Paris and red paint.
Plane Truth is a play on words for both where sidewalk chalk is used, and Plain Truth, the working title of Thomas Paine’s pamphlet Common Sense.
Perfect for a quick game of hopscotch.
